Meet
Heidi
A graduate of Cleveland State University with a degree in psychology, Heidi loves teaching and has been both a tutor and classroom teacher for the past 15 years. She has enormous experience with middle school test prep, having prepared hundreds of students for the SHSAT through one-on-one tutoring and group SHSAT classes. Each year, many of her SHSAT students go on to Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech, or Brooklyn Latin. She has also extensively taught the ISEE and SSAT, and, through her tutoring and course instruction, she has sent many students to Boston's specialized high schools and many of the Northeast's top private schools. Currently, she works as a K-4 classroom teacher at The Art of Words Community School, a Waldorf-inspired micro-school located in Dumbo, Brooklyn. She has a wealth of experience helping students with ELA. She tutors for the following tests: the ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, SAT, PSAT, Algebra 1 Regents, Geometry Regents, and NY State Tests.
When she's not tutoring or teaching, you can find Heidi spending time with her five (yes, five!) adorable kitties (John, Frankie, Bubs, Abby, and Stella), watching old Star Trek episodes, or enjoying a good book. Her favorite books include Cyrano de Bergerac, The Count of Monte Cristo, Wuthering Heights, and Pride and Prejudice.
