Meet Kevin

Kevin graduated Cum Laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Biophysics. He specialized in Neuroscience, Computational Biology, and Bioinformatics. At Duke, he held positions as a research associate and data scientist working on cancer research in Oncology and Neuro-Oncology labs.

For the past 8 years, Kevin has worked as a peer tutor, helping students with science and math ranging from Calculus to Biology to Chemistry. In college, he worked as a tutor for student-athletes specializing in STEM courses, and he taught everything from Organic Chemistry to Differential Equations to Neuroscience. He later worked independently with students for higher-level courses, including Quantum Physics and graduate level Computer Science. After graduation, he continued working as a tutor for a wide array of STEM courses and preparing graduates for the MCAT, the GRE, and other standardized tests.

Kevin's philosophy centers around personalized guidance and fostering a deep understanding of subjects. He believes strongly in building a strong foundation and ever-expanding one's base of knowledge. He seeks to always build one's knowledge from the basics and ensure that the information is retained, allowing students to excel not just in one course, but throughout their life. He has always loved seeing the look on a student's face when they finally understand something that eluded them for a long time. He will never forget how much of an impact he has made on each student, and how much of an impact they have made on him.

Kevin is also an avid cook specializing in making Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian dishes for regular meals with his friends and family. He is also a passionate reader, attempting, though often failing, to read a minimum of 24 novels annually. In his remaining free time, he enjoys pursuing his own learning goals. He is working on two projects currently, one to refine the logic used by chain-of-thought machine learning models and the second to build a platform for modifications of his favorite video game.
